I've just re-found these photographs and postcards from our trip to London and the Imperial War Museum. My favourite exhibit was the 1940s House - which is a reconstruction over two floors of a real house during the War. I really love the peach colours in the bedrooms which reminded me of a satin bedspread my Grannie had on her bed. I might have to make a trip to town to buy some dye to get this effect myself! I also went a bit mad in the Museum shop and bought up all these instructional postcards - these designs are really amazing and love the little excited Potato Pete!

I found out last week that Cath is bringing out a new book - due out 16th October. Sew! looks quite like Make! which I thoroughly enjoyed - and has some projects I've been interested in having a go at such as this hot water bottle cover and these covered clothes hangers. These images are from HomeShoppingSpy though I notice the cover has changed over at Amazon where you can pre-order Sew! now so I'm sure I'll secure my copy soon!

I really love this range of silicone kitchenware by Zeal, part of English cookware company CKS. [From top to bottom: Spoon Rests, Mini Loaf Cases, Blackbird Pie Funnels, Spatula Spoons, Pan Handles and Bowl Scrapers] I first saw this range at Stock Dublin but its also available over at The Original Cookware Company.
