Harry Clarke's Illustrations for H. C. Andersen's Fariy Tales at the National Gallery

Last weekend we visited the Harry Clarke exhibition at the National Gallery. My brother was really the driving force behind the visit and I'm really glad he suggested we go. Harry Clarke was a famous stained glass artist and created the windows of Celtic Revival Honan Chapel at our University in Cork. The illustrations are hanging in the Print Room and are worth a visit if you are about town. The illustrations here are The Garden of Paradise, The Swineheard, The Wild Swans and The Snow Queen.

Covet Tuesday:The Illustrated Fairy Tales of Hans Christian Anderson

Having visited the National Gallery Bookshop over the weekend my heart is set on acquiring this beautifully illustrated copy of Hans Christian Andersen's Fairy Tales. This book is edited by Robert Klanten and Hendrick Hellige and is published by Die Gestalten Verlag. Each tale is illustrated by a different artist - also available in this series: 1001 Nights: Illustrated Fairy Tales from One Thousand and One Nights and Grimm: The Illustrated Fairy Tales of the Brothers Grimm.

Covet Tuesday: Lisbeth Dahl

I first came across Danish company Lisbeth Dahl at Avoca but since then these products seem to pop up in all the lovely interiors magazines I buy! I've just noticed that the Autumn/Winter Catalogue is now available online (already!) but I'll stick with the Summer Catalogue for this post. This is divided into nine sections: Living, Accessories, Jewellery, Baby & Kids, Easter, Kitchen, Bathroom, Pets and Christmas. I'm particularly drawn to the cake stands!
