Meadows & Byrne has one of the best Christmas displays this year - love the pretty purple and green themed decorations and most the little clip-able birds in particular.

Last weekend we visited Killarney - this was the view from our hotel window - not bad! I went for a walk through Killarney National Park while the more active in our party went kayaking and managed to take Autumnal photographs - everything was so clear and bright! Off to Dublin for a few days this week for The Knitting and Stitching Show so will return to blogland next weekend.
*Still no sign of Louis despite concerted efforts to locate him - thanks for all the finger crossing.

I'm sure other Irish bloggers out there share my envy of the bloggers across the Irish Sea and their amazing thrifty charity shop finds! Well, during our Bath trip I visited every charity shop I could find and look what I found! A Carltonware dish for £4.50 and this scalloped glass plate for £1.50! I could have bought more but was limited by handluggage. Lo and behold I found this small glass in Cork the other day - goes perfectly with my Bath purchase don't you think and quite a good buy at 50cents.

Is it too early for Christmas talk - probably - but I've found that the festive stock always sells out really early so I I had a quick look around Cork yesterday and found the best displays in Boots and M&S. Boots has a fantastic range of branded products from Celia Birtwell to Joules, Marmite to Starbucks. I particularly liked Boots own Cute or What range!
On then to M&S with lots of handmade inspired decorations - great for inspiration to make your own or add to your collection! My favourites here were the little penguins and the Sanna Annukka Biscuit tins - I fell in love with these last year but missed out as they sold very quickly! Think I like the Magical Musical Tin best.
*On a less happy note Louis has been missing since yesterday afternoon - keep your fingers crossed that he'll find his way home before tonight!

*Blogger has been acting up on me lately - for some reason I could not upload photographs last week and now this image stubbornly refuses to upload in landscape!

At the start of the Summer I snaffled two packets of Poppy seeds from my Mum's stash - and these are the result! I was eager to grow something around our compost bin which is very useful but very grey! I just took these photographs today - I think the plants are enjoying the sunny week we're having here in Cork. Also thriving is this pepper plant my friend gave me a while back - which is producing very impressive (to me anyway) fruit right on my windowsill.

Our Seventies Irish household was awash with all things Ercol - although not this range - the dark colonial kind with tapestry covers! Now I find myself drawn to this Ercol Originals range - reissues of the Ercolani designs. I would be more then happy with a set of Butterfly Chairs, Studio Couch and a Nest of Tables! Now I just need to find an Irish stockist and see what I can actually afford!

I have a lot of almost finished projects on the go at the moment so here are a few I've recently completed - and some other lovelies I've invested in over the past few weeks! When I saw this fabric "Daisy Walk" by Jonelle Duracolour I was transported back to childhood when we had a very nifty tea-cosy made from this fabric! I love the primary colours and little daises strewn about the pattern. I made this coffee-cosy for a friend of mine - love the pink Velcro! I invested in some crochet-effect fingerless gloves for the Autumn mornings - from H&M, an array of Rowan handknit cotton in beautiful colours and some (quick intake of breath) *Christmas* ribbon. I also made this cafetiere-cosy with lovely CK fabric and red felt and got around to signing this painting I gave to my Mother-in-Law a few years back!
