I happened across the new Carolyn Donnelly e c l e c t i c Living range in Dunnes Stores Patrick Street last week. I was instantly drawn to the lovely Bedroom and Kitchenware. However, I think I will be paying a special visit this weekend to have another look at the Christmas decorations.

This project has been on my Works in Progress list for over a year now! I finally found the right size box frame in Ikea on our last visit and now my Scandinavian Travel Patches have a new home! I used some ancient Laura Ashley wallpaper for the backing and mounted the patches with some foam sticky pads - all done in about 15 minutes in the end!

I'm finally getting around to posting on our trip to London. First of all a Travel Mosaic of all the highlights: St Pancras International, Royal Hospital Chelsea, British Museum, British Library, Prince Edward Theatre, John Lewis Stratford City - Lego Olympic Stadium, Old Royal Naval College Greenwich, Thames River Bus, Cutty Sark, St Paul's Church Covent Garden, Tate Britain, John Lewis Stratford City - Jelly Belly Queen Elizabeth.
For a special treat we stayed at the St Pancras Renaissance London Hotel - It was wonderful and we had a good nose around the premium rooms off the Grand Staircase!
We travelled out to see the Olympic Park - getting a good view from the John Lewis Viewing Platform and spent a few happy hours in the London Transport Museum.

Tchibo. I've been using the Sewing Thread Set (Nähgarn-Set) since to take up curtains and the Needle Set (Nadel-Set) has been invaluable - especially the heavy magnetised pin cushion - great for using in tandem with my sewing machine!

A few weeks ago we decided to visit The Firkin Crane as part of Cork Heritage Open Day. We were treated to a behind-the-scenes tour of theatre and dance rehearsal spaces, culminating in the Joan Denise (at home) in the Firkin Crane Exhibition which documents the history of the Cork Ballet Company. Afterwards we had lovely coffee at Buttercup Cafe and took a walk around St Anne's Church and Graveyard Shandon.

Having looked in every shop imaginable for something a bit different to wear to a recent wedding I decided to chance making my own fascinator. Most fascinators available were expensive, black and/or feathery and so I headed straight to eBay where I found this Silver Metal Headband and Sinamay Teardrop Base. I then raided my crafts store and found this purple ribbon, assorted buttons and card toppers (the crafty possibilities are endless) and finally some soft felt to line the base. Lots of sewing later I was delighted with the results and was so comfortable that I could wear the headband for the entire day!

Mel boots in Schuh and decided to have a look at the Mel website when I got home. I really love the Mel Ankle Boot Bow Red but also the Mel Boot Grey with the rope effect bow - though I think these may be last season's design. I already own a pair of Tretorn wellies which I keep for 'good' so can I really justify buying another pair for Autumn?

We're off to London soon so I'm doing some advance internet window shopping at Uniqlo! This now Uniqlo Undercover collection is amazing - might come home laden with tunics and corduroy!
Unfortunately I'll be too early to see the new Orla Kiely Uniqlo collection (the stoles look amazing).

After what seems like weeks of rain we took a chance with the weather and headed to the Old Head of Kinsale for a walk and were rewarded with these amazing skies and windy fields. Although not as brave as the families stoically making sand castles and having picnics on Garretstown beach we did get in a much overdue game of soldiers!
