Visiting: Blarney Castle

We recently visited Blarney Castle - probably one of Cork's most famous sites! Our family lives a stone's throw from the Castle grounds but we rarely visit - so with some friends down from Dublin we decided to take the trip! We were rewarded with a beautiful Spring day and wandered around the grounds taking in the new Poison Garden and Blarney House. If anyone has ever wondered what 'kissing the Blarney Stone' entails take note of the hole in the ramparts in the third photograph - and picture of what is expected of you here - I passed this time around due to slight fear of heights!!

Zakka Sewing

Blogging outdoors this lunchtime - we Irish have to make good use of any sun that comes our way! I've been bitten by the Amazon bug again - you know ... those tempting emails they send once you've bought one craft book - telling you about all their great offers! This time round I succumbed to Zakka Sewing - beautifully presented - though no real patterns - more of an ogling/inspirational book as you can see!

New Teacup Buttons & Sundae Magnets

I've just added a new shop over at and am re-vamping the whole website this week - so apologies for any unfinished pages - it is quite a time consuming process though I do love Mr Site! I love these Teacup Buttons - might have to make a set of these for myself! Oh and all postage & packaging is free from this iheartcrafts shop too! Beautiful Spring sun here today - even managed to get some planting done outside this lunchtime!

Visiting Galway: Cashel, Roundstone, Ballyconneely

Last weekend we stayed with our friends at their great thatched cottage in Galway! We we very nicely driven around these beauty spots - thank goodness the weather stayed good! We had never been to Roundstone before and were very impressed - there was even a little house for sale down by the pier - very tempting at this time of year! Looking forward to eating lots of Easter Eggs tomorrow - okay so we had some today already - very naughty but very nice!
