Visiting: Bramley Lodge, Fota Fernery, Italian Gardens and Orangery

We took a trip to Bramley Lodge for lunch the other day - such a popular place and I would recommend the apple pie. There is a small fen area across from the restaurant - well worth a look if you're in the area.
We then drove the short journey to Fota to see the Italian Gardens and Orangery which were closed during our last visit and also happened across the Fernery a childhood favourite which was looking beautiful in the sunshine.

Covet Tuesday: Adria Action Caravan

I recently spied this caravan at a Cork garage and ran home to look up its particulars online - I really covet this Adria Action Caravan - just imagine the possibilities for that tiny and cute interior!

Cork Thrifty Finds

Since our move back to Cork last year I've been a regular visitor to the city's charity shops - although not as impressive as some of the Dublin shops there is the odd treasure to be found. So far I've snapped up this rather CK-ish Arklow Pottery Jug which I love, a little orange glass - a bit seventies but I love the shape and this nifty Celtic Irish Fine Earthenware espresso cup. Not bad for a total of 3.50 euro!
I also fell for these chairs in Meadows and Byrne - love the colours and the flower motifs - and a steal at 10euro each!

Visiting: Fitzgerald's Park & the Mardyke

Last week we visited Fitzgerald's Park and the Mardyke right here in Cork City. It had been years since I've been here and its so pretty in the sunshine - though a lot smaller than my childhood memories! They seem to be renovating the Public Museum so we scooted on past the fountains to the "Shakey Bridge" - our Uncle used to terrify us on this bridge when we were small - shaking it so that it would sway from side to side!
As you can see I've started growing lettuce this year - also some onions, chard, herbs and some poppies from seed - all very exciting for the novice gardener that I am!

Covet Tuesday: Monsoon Occassion Tunics

I'm off to a wedding in July and have my eye on this tunic from Monsoon. They have some lovely silk tunics in stock at the moment and I love the colours and the pansy motif on this one! Just have to figure out the bag and shoes issue now!
